Lendel was born in Stonefort, IL on December 2, 1933 the son of Devol Motsinger and Velma (McSparin) Motsinger. He married Nadine" Sessions on August 8, 1958 and she preceded him in death on September 7, 2001. Lendel was a Security Supervisor at Caterpillar in Decatur where he was employed for 37 years.  He was affiliated with Moundford Free Methodist Church and a US Army veteran.

He is survived by his son Ted Motsinger and wife Sandy of Normal; daughter Sherry Massey and husband Dave of Sullivan; grandchildren Christine, Sara and Jacob Motsinger, Nick and Katie Massey.

Lee enjoyed his life, wife, children, and cars.  He also really enjoyed his vacations and retirement so for more than 25 years he and Nadine traveled annually to the beaches of Florida and made many cherished friends and memories along the way.

Lee was always a supporter of education and helped with fund raising for the local school district and also serving as board member for the Warrensburg-Latham school district during the 70’s.

He also did all that he could to make sure his children got off to a good start in life which included sending them to Eastern Illinois University (where he now has a granddaughter attending).

Gifts may be directed to the EIU Foundation in memory of Lendel Motsinger. Gifts may be mailed to the EIU Foundation at 860 W. Lincoln Avenue, Charleston, IL 61920.”
